Episode 34: Do the Right Thing
Monday Feb 15, 2021
Monday Feb 15, 2021
"Let me tell you the story of Right Hand, Left Hand. It's a tale of good and evil. Hate: it was with this hand that Cain iced his brother. Love: these five fingers, they go straight to the soul of man. The right hand: the hand of love. The story of life is this: static. One hand is always fighting the other hand, and the left hand is kicking much ass. I mean, it looks like the right hand, Love, is finished. But hold on, stop the presses, the right hand is coming back. Yeah, he got the left hand on the ropes, now, that's right. Ooh, it's a devastating right and Hate is hurt, he's down. Left-Hand Hate KO'ed by Love." Radio Raheem Do the Right Thing 1989
The whole gang gets back together to talk Better Call Saul, Austin's intro to anime, Rubyen tells us why White Men Can't Jump, Logan brings in the craziest action/comedy Tropic Thunder, Tyler tells us to all see Judas and the Black Messiah and for Black History Month we get serious about Spike Lee's masterpiece, Do the Right Thing.

Tuesday Feb 02, 2021
"If we're right, people lose homes. People lose jobs. People lose retirement savings, people lose pensions. You know what I hate about fucking banking? It reduces people to numbers. Here's a number - every 1% unemployment goes up, 40,000 people die, did you know that?" - Ben Rickert The Big Short 2015
This week we bring you a special bonus episode because of the unprecedented happenings in the financial market. Logan and Tyler sit down to talk finances through the lens of 2 prime examples of Wall Street shenanigan's, The Big Short and The Wolf of Wall Street. We will be back later this week with the regularly scheduled programming but felt it would be a miss to not share this episode with all of you on our main feed as well.

We start the New Year with a new us, Rubyen is now the full time host of the show and guides us through one of his favorite movies, the classic sci-fi mind bending pioneer in a landscape of sci-fi copycat movies, The Matrix. Along the way we talk WW84, how cheaters should never prosper, why Children of Men should probably be a stand alone episode, and why The Matrix has stood the test of time and somehow is going to lead us to a sequel that we are going to see this year. Next week we are going to cover Austin's favorite movie of all time, Hobbs and Shaw. Check out the movie before the podcast so that you can follow along with this cinematic masterpiece.
